Hymn for the weekend” The single by The British rock band Coldplay which  earlier ignited a row for it’s hackneyed portrayal of India, the signer Beyonce Knowles Is facing criticism now.

Beyonce has been clobbered by many for en robing “Sari” in the music video, the video also features The Indian actress Sonam kapoor.

The video portray the band interacting with the locals where colored powder being thrown, which is a part of Holi in Indian culture, the entire scene is shot in Mumbai.
At a point Beyonce is shown watch by the locals through a cinema box and in a wide – screen cinema,
she disport two kind of attire in the video, one that focus her cleavage and the other that depict her in sari and complex jewellery

Nonetheless, some people outraged that she was wearing a traditional headscarf which supposed to represent a woman’s level of humility according to Indian culture.
Many express their opinion that the video is awesome and artistic but none are satisfied by the Beyonce style of wearing Indian attire. Some questioned “why can’t they film without appropriating culture.

“Hymn for the weekend” is the latest single from the band’s new album “A Head Full of Dreams”. The video of the much hyped song seems to be a leaf out of a book on India, with Knowles as a glamorous Bollywood diva and Sonam walking among ruins in an ethnic attire.

It also gives a sneak-peak into Indian classical dance forms, and features Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin enjoying touristy things — from exploring India with a ride in a ‘black and yellow’ taxi, and even in a boat on a ghat, to celebrating the festival of colours in Mumbai.
