What was your first reaction when you got the news?

I was eager to know the result. When I saw my name within 25 I cried and felt really thrilled. I first rang up my father.

Who is your inspiration?

I have always been inspired by my father who is in the Indian Police Service.

If u were given a chance? Since you liked IPS earlier what would you like to chose IPS or IAS?

To be frank I have actually wanted to be in Indian Police Service . But my parents wanted me to be an IAS officer. So I left it to God to decide. I also gave my first preference as IAS. I want to serve my people in a much better way.

How many times have you sat for this exam?

Getting 9th rank in Indian Forest Service, I was happy. It was like a motivation to me to prepare myself for higher level. No doubt IFS is also a very good service. I didn’t take it and sat for my next attempt and got through the IAS this time.

Was it your child hood dream to become a civil servant?

Yes. Observing my father who is in IPS was motivation for me. It didn’t happen easily. I sincerely worked hard since my school days.

How would you like to see yourself in future?

I believe that getting into this service is just a beginning. I really don’t know what future holds for me? But I will always make my best effort in life to do something meaningful for the society
