What is Paranormal psychology or Occult stuff?
Para- normal psychology confirms that we live in the midst of invisible energies and psychic forces. There is an extremely disturbing genre dealing with ghosts, Satans, evil- spirits possessions and which has crept into Literature, TV and Cinema like ‘The Omen’, ‘The Exorcist’, Rosemary’s Baby in Hollywood and the recently released ‘Darr@ The Mall’ by Bollywood are classic examples of amateurs dabbling in Occult stuff.
Para- normal psychology confirms that we live in the midst of invisible energies and psychic forces. Even Milton knew this when he wrote: “Millions of spiritual creatures move about us, unseen and unheard.” We can be victims of evil forces only under three conditions. First, if we are in a place where these forces are concentrated. Second, if we dabble in the Occult without proper knowledge and third, if we meet people who handle these forces. A psychic attack emanating from another human being operates on the basis of hypnotism and negative auto- suggestion.
However, if one is pure in thought, word and deed, one’s aura throws back the negativity since an average good person’s aura (electro- magnetic- field) is full of light, love and harmony. On the other hand, an evil astral entity can cause such attacks in a person who is full of rage, bitterness, jealously, lust and cruelty to others.
In cases of psychic attacks there are certain classic symptoms like nervous- exhaustion, nightmares, mental- breakdown or a sudden bad odour of decomposing flesh (this fact is based on cases of exorcism). This cause could be tragic experiences like gang- rape, incest or even lack of parental love in childhood.
Psychic hypochondriacs delude themselves thinking that they are victims of an attack or possession when in reality, such feelings could be the outcome of perpetual bad thoughts, jealously, chronic diseases or sexual repression (which manifests as hysteria.) Several educated people even today believe in the power of the evil- eye, that is, the eye of a jealous person. An entire marketing strategy has evolved with key- chains, jewellery and wall- hangings from Turkey to ward off the evil eye.
Amateurs in the Occult and armchair students of para- normal- psychology who try to “cure” others with their half- baked knowledge can easily fall into the trap of being possessed by a malevolent Astral entity who may love to play games with such human beings. On the other hand, an evil astral entity can cause such attacks in a person who is full of rage, jealousy, lust and cruelty to others.
The best antidote against a psychic attack is to keep one’s aura (electro- magnetic- field) pure by practicing good thoughts, words and deeds. This is the best way to combat any sort of negative energies around us. Unfortunately, gullible people in their grief run to dhongi- babas, self- appointed- sadhus, fake- fakirs and pseudo tantriks who exploit their unsuspecting victims financially and in case of women, even sexually.
In Christian theology, the Cross or even the sign of the cross, holy water and sacred incantations ward off all evil vibrations. In Zorastrianism, a special powerful capsule- prayer is recited, visualising a circle of protection round one’s body nine times. In Islam, certain Kalmas from the Holy Quran are recited. In Buddhism, a Tantra is recited when the restless mind is moved to another place after crossing a body of water.
Also, the new place where the person is shifted is cleansed with salt to neutralise any new psychic attacks. Of all the Vedic mantras, the Maha- moola- mantra of Om is most powerful against any sort of negativity and also the Shanti- Mantra which wishes peace, wellbeing and joy to all creatures. Since love and kindness can move mountains, it can definitely ward off any negativity. Nothing evil can dare to come anywhere near you if you are full of love and blessings.
