Reason of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in Modern lifestyle

The frenzied modern life, increasing stress level and overloaded work life has hit the highest point of increase of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)   in female in the recent time. The robust consumption of fast food in modern day hectic life with no time to have cooked food at home has served as the main cause for the increase of PCOS in women.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, or PCOS, is a health condition that affects about 10 million women in the world. The exact cause is unknown, but it is considered a hormonal problem. Genetics and environmental factors are believed to be involved in the development of PCOS. It is a leading cause of female infertility and is responsible for a number of symptoms that can affect the body physically and emotionally.

Specialist said, “PCOS is recurrent malady found in the female, which creates hormonal imbalances leading to fertility problems in women. A female with PCOS gets problems to conceive child. Giving natural birth to their children becomes tough and at times impossible without taking medication. This occurs more in female with excessive stress and balanced diet.”

PCOS affects the entire chain of hormones which runs menstrual period in women resulting in irregular periods. Moreover, according to records, the PCOS patients have the highest possibility of miscarriages, and congenital abnormalities in the children.

There is no cure for PCOS, the only way to prevent this is having a diabetic and balanced diet. Good at mouth ‘ refined flour’ is the worst enemy . Girls should maintain a regular routine for physical exercise and strictly keep away from having obesity- cut down layered curves and check on weight. Otherwise they can’t avoid cardiac diseases and high level of diabetes at their 40s because PCOS weakens the insulin resistance.”

There are often higher levels of androgens (male hormones) in women with PCOS. The excess androgens are produced mostly by the ovaries, but the adrenal glands can also be involved. Excess androgens are responsible for many PCOS symptoms including acne, unwanted hair, thinning hair. Sometimes the voice box also gets affected turning the voice into a male voice. According to reports, women with severe PCOS suffer from depression for the unusual occurrences in them.

The western way of living s not appropriate for the Indian lifestyle because there is a major food habit difference. I would suggest the Indian girls to take light lunch and not to skip their light dinner. Weight gain can be checked only through gyming, swimming, or other physical activities.
