22 year old girl from Jorhat drive 121 Km blindfolded
Gulanchsmita Gayatri Crounchadwip, a 22-year old girl and resident of Rajahawli in the Sonari Gaon area of Baligaon in Jorhat district has successfully driven a stretch of 121 km from Jorhat to Kaziranga (100 km) and back by 21 Kms towards Jorhat blindfolded on Sunday.Gulanchsmita rode blindfolded from Jorhat on a mobike to Kaziranga accompanied by her father Dipak Jyoti Borah who also rode alongside her on another bike.
From Kaziranga Gulanchsmita rode a Maruti Gypsy 21 km towards Jorhat blindfolded to complete her feat of blindfolded drive of 121 kms on bike and Gypsy.Gulanchsmita stated that she practices meditation and yoga regularly which has enabled her to drive blindfolded and on Sunday with messages to stop witch hunting, violence against women , rhino poaching, Gulanchsmita Gayatri started her journey to Kaziranga. “It is the power of meditation and yoga which once again helped me to achieve the feat,” said Gulanchsmita.
She also said that it took around 3 hours to complete the ride of 121 km.
Gulanchsmita Gayatri Crounchadwip is a student of electronics and telecommunication engineering and daughter of Jyoti Borah and Dipak Jyoti Borah of Rajahawli in Jorhat.
It may be mentioned that Gulanchsmita has earlier made successful blindfolded drives to create awareness on witch hunting on September 9, 2015 (8 kms), donations for flood victims on September 24, 2015 and again on September 9, 2016 by driving a Maruti Gypsy blindfolded (11.6 km).
