Severe Air Crash at Nagaon, Assam

A Sukhoi-30 fighter plane of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed when the two pilot were on its way from Tezpur Salonibari air force station on a routine training sortie, though both the pilot were safe as they manage to eject before the crash in a paddy field,However the part of the crashed plane hit three local including two woman injuring seriously. All the three were rushed to the civil hospital immediately.



The impact of the crash was so high that it created a 25-26 foot deep crater in the area.



The accident Occured when The crew, Squadron Leader P. Kalra and Flight Lt A.K. Singh were their daily training scedule and suddenly lost all communication with the control tower around 12.36 pm and crashed at Baludor, Juria in Nagaon district around 12.40 pm.

Later both the crew memmer were brought back to Tezpur airbase, about 12km from Tezpur town, by air force officials on a helicopter.

Still the actual reason of the accident is unknown. The court of inquiry had been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident, said Group Captain Amit Mahajan, (PRO) of the Eastern Air Command based at Shillong in Meghalaya.



Officials said that it was the first crash of a Su-30 fighter in Assam after they were first brought to the Tezpur air base on June 15, 2009.
